New Course Notification - Hospital First Receiver: Hospital Incident Command System

The health and safety training program, one of four modules created specifically for hospital personnel, provides detailed procedures used within the incident command system. It explains and portrays the use of ICS within a healthcare environment and is consistent with the most recent revision of the Hospital Incident Command System (HCIS).

Any incident involving mass casualties from a hazardous material or an event involving weapons of mass destruction (WMD) would place healthcare staff and facilities at risk of contamination. The HCIS training defines the elements of HCIS, key positions within the system, the hospital command center, and control zones.

This four part training program follows JCAHO’s accreditation standards for decontamination and emergency planning; and meets the requirements of OSHA for healthcare personnel to be certified at the Operations Level.
