Adding new audio narration is easy
All you need is a sound card and a microphone! You’ve probably got a sound card and all versions of Windows have a sound recorder program. Not sure you have the program? In Windows95/98 just make these selctions from the “Start” button: Programs > Accessories > Entertainment > Sound Recorder. See, you’ve got the software to record. All you need is a microphone—$20 and up from any computer retailer.

Simply record your own narration into a .wav file and save it in the course folder (directory). Then use MODIFY™ to put an “Audio” command in the appropriate script referring to the name of your new file in the “Option 1” column.
If your new audio files are alternate sound tracks (“overdubs”) changing the language of the course, simply use MODIFY™ to set up an alternate language version and record your files into your new alternate language folder (directory) for the course.

Your new audio files might be:

Narrations to cover new content you’ve added in the form of text or graphic screens
Narrations for the PowerPoint presentation you’ve converted into a Mastery platform course
Narrations for quiz questions you may have added
New glossary terms and definitions
Alternate language files or other replacement sound track to be dubbed over the course video, text, and graphic screens
Elements of an entirely new course you’re making from a MODIFY™ Course Shell

Mastery Technologies and the Mastery Group Members can provide professional audio encoding services for a modest fee. Rates are based on the number of finished minutes of audio files created. Our current rate is $20 per finished minute with a minimum fee of $200.
