Step 3: Create An On-Line
Archive Copy
Use Windows Explorer to create a folder to contain the archive copies
of the database. (example: c:\video\record\1999).
Go into Training Manager, Learner Data folder, choose Learner Data Utilities.

Now choose Backup learner database files.
This will bring up the browse box to choose the destination of your backup files.
Select the drive and path you have created for your archived data. When you click "OK" all learner database files will be copied to the archive directory.
If you maintain an archive folder for each year on your system, you can easily create reports against the archived years by opening them with STARS.
Step 4: Purge Last Year's History and Lesson Data From The New
Year's Database.
| Go into Training Manager,
Learner Data folder.
Choose Learner Data Utilities. Then click on Year-End database purge. |

This will prompt you to enter a cut-off date for the records you wish to purge.
Enter the date for the
last day of the year just ended.
Step 5: Printing Reports
From Archived Years.
If you need to work with
old records that have been archived, simply select the archive directory
in the STARS "Welcome" folder.
